Someone posted a request for an interpretation on one the newsgroups I frequent, so I gave a stab at it. Below is her question and my response - it will be interesting if I hit it on the head or not :)
Can anyone give me an interpretation of this Celtic cross spread
please?
For a while now I have come to a blank when trying to read my own
cards. I have a really strong feeling there is something I need to
know, and that a member or members of my groups can tell me what
this is??? the only clue I have regarding the spread is that I think
the prince of cups is important.
Three of cups
the hanged man
five of wands
nine of cups
eight of cups
the emperor
prince of cups
Ace of cups
six of swords
six of cups
The spread was done using the cosmic tarot. I would be really grateful for any interpretations, or help of any kind.

My response:
Well, I'll take a stab at it though I'm still learning the Tarot. I'm not familiar with the deck you used so I used my travel deck, the Mary Hanson-Roberts Tarot-to-Go deck. Also I'm assuming your Prince of Cups is the same as my Page of Cups. I also don't really use the Celtic Cross spread, but...
All that qualifying out of the way...I'm not reading anyone else's responses yet so it will be interesting to compare them and to see if it fits your question :)
My first impression is that your question is an emotional one (indicated by all the Cups that came up) and might also involve Growth of some kind (the wands/rods) - perhaps needed growth. I'd say it involves a relationship.
First the 3 of cups is a card of cooperation and partnerships, though the hanged man indicates you are sacrificing something to maintain the partnership. The Five of Rods indicates to me it's a battle to keep the relationship going - perhaps you are having a lot of fights with the person(s) involved.
The 9 of Cups indicates a design for happiness, comfort, home and prosperity, while the 8 of cups indicates a tendancy to ignore that happiness when you do have it - or a problem in finding it. Could also mean a need to turn away from what you see as this happiness now or a possibility of it.
The Emperor usually indicates a strong man of means and I find it often indicates a father or father figure. This could indicate the other person in the relationship and could mean they are emotionally detached or distant.
The Page (Prince) of cups is usually an idealistic dreamer - someone that is seeking but not really sure what. Could indicated a rift in the relationship - dreaming of more than you currently have.
The Ace of Cups seems to indicate emotional turmoil and tears. My guess is on your part - that the relationship is causing a lot of turmoil in your life.
The Six of Swords can indicate literally packing up and moving on. Cutting ties or travel.
The 6 of Cups shows a future of happiness and perhaps even children - though if your question was concerning a relationship, I don't think this future happiness is with your current partner.
